Corné was educated at the Rand Afrikaans University (currently known as the University of the Johannesburg) where he obtained a B.Proc degree. He completed his practical training at a firm in Randburg, where he was primarily responsible for drafting security agreements for the commercial property finance department of one of South Africa’s commercial banks. Before joining Ramsden Small Attorneys, Corné was a Director at Miranda Vermaas Incorporated and is currently also an associate in a corporate advisory/consultancy firm. Corné’s practice is focused almost exclusively on commercial law, in which field he specialises. Corné has experience in drafting a variety of contracts, including asset-for-share agreements, securitisation agreements, restructure agreements as well as FIDIC contracts, shareholders’ agreements, memoranda of incorporation, sale of share agreements and sale of business agreements. Corné has been involved in civil litigation in the High Courts relating to specifically contractual disputes. Corné acts and has acted for various blue chip clients in his commercial law practice, in various industries, including engineering companies, mining companies, private equity investors, hedge funds, bridging houses, auditing firms and commercial banks.
